if you want to watch something great, buy, rent or steal 'The Howlin' Wolf Story'... I'm pretty sure it's on Netflix.
Hubert is well represented throughout, and it's among the very best of music biographies I've seen.
Even if you already love Howlin' Wolf, you will find your love grow just listening to everyone talk about him.

It's one hell of an article, but sledgehammers like it with a mostly single solution of ending capitalism is both unrealistic and unproductive, plus presenting our history so narrowly is demoralizing and it isn't what will cause citizens to revolt. There has to be something to fight for, something good about us that we want back, rather than just something that seems overwhelmingly evil to fight against.

Listening to some of the vid and then reading the article, I'm more depressed than inspired. And a bit angry. It certainly does not tell the full story of Us.

It is great post and I'm glad to have read it, but I think stuff like this does more harm than good.

I'm sure would they would apply the law in the same way as they do for demanding you unlock rooms in your house, or unlock your car trunk if they have a warrant, or just cause, to search those particular places. Sadly, when it comes to situations like this, the decisions tend to err on the side of discovery, and not on the side of protecting individuals nor privacy. Searches generally only get thrown out when it is determined that police blatantly went out of their way to circumvent due process.

As for the tasered woman in Florida, yes, she did put herself in that situation, but once she is in police custody becomes their responsibility to make sure she is protected - even from themselves. Why was she not secured in the police station? Why was this officer not maintaining control over his arrestee, to give her opportunity to bolt? And lastly, why did this officer choose to use a taser when the video obviously shows he was not five steps behind her, and her ability to run was compromised by the handcuffs. There is no reason why he couldn't have managed to catch up with her and used his -training- to subdue her, and return her to his control. Instead, he chose the easiest possible method available to him, that would take him the least amount of effort. Tasers should be used in a situation where the officer's, or someone else's life is in danger, not to avoid exercise.
